All of our rental locations are currently following normal business hours. We are following the Corona virus (COVID-19) situation closely and the guidelines made by the authorities and the Institute of Public Health to ensure that we take all precautions to protect our customers and employees. We have taken several extra measures in our cleaning process to prevent and reduce the risk of infection from the car to a minimum.

How do we prevent and reduce the spread of Coronavirus?

One-way rentals abroad and driving abroad are currently not permitted

CANCEL OR CHANGE RESERVATIONS

Cancel or change prepaid reservations

Prepaid reservations can be canceled free of charge if canceled prior to midnight two days before pickup. If canceled later, a fee will be charged (depending on the destinationcountry). It will take approx. 10 business days before the money is returned to your accountin the event of cancellation.

Cancel or change "pay later" reservations

Cancellation can be done without charge right up to the time of pickup. Change can bemade (no fee), but new conditions may apply.

Extension of existing rental

Contact your rental office for information on rent extension. You will find contactinformation on your rental agreement.

Reservations made through third parties (such as Finn.no, Expedia, Rentalcars etc.)

You must contact the third party directly where the order was made to change or cancel.

Can I rent a car in the areas that UD advise Norwegians against traveling to?

Yes, so far most rental offices in these countries are still open, but certain local restrictionsmay apply depending on the country and city. We therefore recommend you as a customerto follow the authorities' recommendations when it comes to traveling to certain countries.

We advise all our customers to follow developments from the World Health Organization (WHO), the Public Health Institute (FHI) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (UD).

Measures and procedures for cleaning

What is Hertz doing to prevent and reduce the spread of Coronavirus?

In our daily processes, which we have always used, it means that we before each new hirefollow a preparation program including washing the interior as well as the exterior of thecar. This means that we for example clean the surfaces of the car´s interior like steeringwheel, gear stick, touch display, seat adjusters, door handles and so on. These contactsurfaces are washed extra carefully with the mixture we use for preparation.

If we receive information that a car has been driven by a driver or co-passenger who isinfected, the car is taken out of service for a quarantine period.

With regards to our employees and customers we offer regular hand washing and use ofhand disinfection where available.

One way rentals

Stop of one-way rentals abroad, and driving abroad

Due to the risk of spreading Covid-19, Hertz has decided not to allow one-way rentals abroad. This also applies to cars that are to travel back and forth abroad. In other words, it is currently only allowed to use our rental cars in Norway.
